Among Taylor's best-selling models, the 314ce offers a quintessentially Taylor experience—all-solid tonewoods and an accommodating feel—bolstered by a trio of next-generation innovations designed to enhance tone, playability and plugged-in performance. These include a new variant of Taylor's V-Class® voicing architecture, a revolutionary neck joint design and a new proprietary pickup/preamp combo that tames the harshness of traditional piezos.
This versatile model boasts solid sapele back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top in a gloss-finish Grand Auditorium body. The result is a punchy, shimmering midrange with vibrant trebles balanced by a warm, woody low end. Its tonal depth is enhanced by new scalloped V-Class bracing, which also increases volume, sustain and pitch accuracy. A slender, long-tenon Action Control Neck™ delivers signature Taylor playability and boosts low-end resonance. The groundbreaking design enables players to make easy, on-the-fly string height adjustments.
With a visual style to match its workhorse personality, this model features new Weathervane inlays in Italian acrylic, a firestripe pickguard, nickel tuners and black binding with black and white purfling. Whether you’re performing in the corner of a café or on a festival stage, onboard Claria System electronics make it easy to dial in your preferred amplified tone with soundhole-mounted controls. Plus, a hardshell case offers premium protection for storage and transport. All in all, the 314ce makes a strong case as the ultimate Swiss-army-knife guitar.
Grand Auditorium Body Shape: Taylor's flagship shape offers comfort and cross-genre utility, with a clear, balanced tone suited for both fingerstyle and strumming.
Sapele Back & Sides: Balanced and consistent across the frequency spectrum. Punchy midrange similar to mahogany with more top-end presence.
Spruce Top: The most common top wood between Sitka, Adirondack and Engelmann varieties. Bold, clear, and dynamic sound suits any playing style.
Action Control Neck: Building on Taylor’s legacy of easy-playing necks, the new Action Control Neck pairs a long-tenon joint for added warmth and depth with a patented system for effortless string height adjustment.
Claria Acoustic Pickup System: Designed for live performance with input from touring artists and front-of-house engineers, Taylor’s new Claria™ pickup system delivers clear, reliable amplified acoustic tone in virtually any setting — from live stage performances to home recording studios.
Venetian Cutaway: The Venetian cutaway is known for its soft, round lines. The sloping peak of the cutaway will vary depending on the shape of the body.
