Vintage 1970s MIJ Alvarez Montana Five Star 5-String Banjo

This is a vintage Alvarez 4286 Montana Five Star Five-String Banjo in overall good condition for its age. Manufactured in the early 1970's in Japan, it has a brass tone ring that maximizes clarity, sustain, and acoustic projection as well as elegant inlays throughout the neck, head stock, and resonator. Fingerboard and resonator are bound. Head stock and neck cracks have been repaired and are stable. No cosmetic work was done to better blend them in. There is tarnish and oxidation on the brass pieces, as well as overall wear on the head, resonator, and first few frets. The original case is included, but has broken latches and does not hold closed by itself.
