The HAPI Drum Mini is HAPI's smallest and most compact drum. These little ones have a big sound at a small price! It’s so easy to bring along your HAPI Drum Mini anywhere you go. Play it in the park, bring it over to a friends house, or take it camping. Fits in day packs for easy travel and even has its own optional padded bag for transport and storage. This HAPI Drum uses the same Patented (D620,041S) eight note layout as the other HAPI Drums which adds harmonic tones to each note when played. A bottom port helps let the sound out to fill the room and rubber feet allow it to be set on any surface for play.
Mallets are included!
Pentatonic Scales (a musical scale with five notes per octave):
D Akebono (D4, E4, F4, A4, Bb4, D5, E5, F5)
Color: Hammered Copper - the copper color and hammered texture can vary slightly from drum to drum due to the hand mixing process of the paint. Each one is unique! This is a durable protective layer for your drum that adds a cool “stone” finished texture.
How was the HAPI Drum created?
Hapi Drum is owned and operated by partners Grahm Doe and Tricia Kelly. Their passion for steel instruments began with the purchase of their first Hang. The beautiful sound of steel captivated and inspired them. With their previous experience creating musical instruments (didgeridoos), they began experimenting with steel. They discovered Dennis Havlena and his research on using steel tongues to create a similar kind of sound. Inspired by his proof of concept they set out on a prototyping journey. They began to experiment with tongue shapes, drum body sizes, sound ports, dampening materials, and different steel types. After months of work they had their first design, the HAPI Origin. Since then their product line has expanded to include the HAPI Mini, Slim, Bell and UFO Models.
